Damian Lillard’s NBA journey has been marked by a perceived pattern of unfortunate consequences for his loyalty. For years, he stood out as a rare example of a superstar committed to his original team, the Portland Trail Blazers, while many of his contemporaries formed superteams elsewhere in pursuit of championships.
