Aaron Gordon may be unavailable for Game 7 of the Nuggets-Thunder series because of a hamstring strain.

Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon might be sidelined for the crucial Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday due to a strained left hamstring, according to an unnamed source familiar with the situation. The injury occurred late in Denver’s 119-107 victory over the Thunder on Thursday, which tied their second-round playoff series at 3-3.

The source, speaking to The Associated Press on Friday night, noted that the full extent of Gordon’s injury has not been officially disclosed. The winner of Sunday’s matchup will secure a spot in the Western Conference finals, facing the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Losing Gordon would be a significant setback for the Nuggets, who typically rely on a short rotation with just three key players off the bench. If Gordon is unable to play, the team may turn to Peyton Watson or Russell Westbrook as potential replacements in the starting lineup.

Gordon, 29, has been a vital contributor to the Nuggets’ playoff success this season, including a hard-fought seven-game series win over the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round. He’s posting career playoff highs, averaging 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game this postseason.

Reflecting on the injury after Thursday’s game, Gordon said, “It feels okay, just not entirely sure what happened. I’ll just focus on recovery and see how things go for Game 7.”

During the regular season, Gordon was limited to 51 games due to a strained right calf and a sprained left ankle, averaging 14.7 points per contest. Meanwhile, Michael Porter Jr. is also dealing with a strained left shoulder, adding to the team’s injury concerns.
