Alabama Basketball Adds Ivy League Contender to Its Non-Conference Schedule
Alabama has added Ivy League powerhouse Yale to its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season, as reported by CBS Sports. The Crimson Tide will host the Bulldogs at Coleman Coliseum on a date that is yet to be announced.
Yale had a strong season in 2023-24, finishing with a 22-8 record while winning both the Ivy League regular-season and tournament titles. The Bulldogs earned a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament but were eliminated in the first round by No. 4 seed Texas A\&M. Yale also made a memorable run in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, where they upset No. 4 Auburn as a No. 13 seed.
The two teams have faced each other only once before, with Alabama securing a 66-63 victory in Tuscaloosa during the 2008-09 season.

Alabama’s non-conference schedule already includes several high-profile matchups. The Tide will host Purdue on November 13 and travel to Chicago’s United Center to take on Illinois on November 19. Additionally, Alabama will face Arizona in Birmingham’s Legacy Arena on December 13. The team will also participate in the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas and the annual SEC/ACC Challenge.
Yale becomes the second mid-major added to Alabama’s schedule, joining North Dakota. The Fighting Hawks will visit Coleman Coliseum as part of a two-for-one series after Alabama played at North Dakota last season. With these additions, Alabama’s non-conference slate promises a challenging and exciting lineup for the upcoming season.
