Alabama’s Final Ranking in the 2024-25 Women’s Basketball AP Top 25 Poll

In the final update of the 2024-25 season, the Alabama Crimson Tide’s position in the women’s college basketball AP Top 25 has been officially revealed. Released on Monday afternoon, Alabama climbed one spot to finish the season ranked No. 20 nationally in the last AP Poll of the year.

This final ranking closely mirrors Alabama’s placement in the USA TODAY Sports Women’s Basketball Coaches Poll, where the Crimson Tide came in at No. 21 in the season’s final update, also released on Monday.

Heading into the NCAA Tournament as the No. 21 team in the AP Poll, Alabama was seeded No. 5 and managed a first-round win against No. 12 seed Green Bay. The Crimson Tide secured an 81-67 victory in that matchup, advancing to the round of 32. However, their tournament run ended in a high-scoring thriller, falling 111-108 in double overtime to No. 4 seed Maryland.

Despite the second-round exit, Alabama wrapped up an impressive campaign, finishing the 2024-25 season with a 24-9 overall record. Their performance throughout the year earned them national recognition and a place among the top 20 teams in the final AP rankings—an improvement from where they entered the postseason.

The season showcased Alabama’s resilience and ability to compete at a high level, and with a strong foundation in place, the Crimson Tide will look to build on this momentum heading into next year. Their final ranking reflects the progress made under head coach Kristy Curry and signals a program continuing to rise on the national stage.
