Arkansas’ Boogie Fland Joins Transfer Portal, but Draft Remains the Priority
Arkansas freshman Boogie Fland, a former five-star prospect, has entered the transfer portal, according to sources reported by ESPN. However, Fland’s primary focus remains on the NBA draft, as he continues to pursue a professional career. Entering the portal before the Tuesday midnight deadline allows him to explore all his options while staying committed to his draft aspirations.
A McDonald’s All-American in the 2024 class, Fland showed significant promise during the early part of his freshman season, emerging as one of the top freshmen in the country. He averaged 15.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds across the first 18 games, shooting 36.5% from beyond the arc. However, his season was derailed by a hand injury sustained in mid-January against Florida. Despite starting the following two games, Fland was forced to sit out for the remainder of the regular season.
He made his return during the NCAA tournament, where he contributed as a reserve, averaging 17.7 minutes per game in matchups with Kansas, St. John’s, and Texas Tech.

At the time of his injury, Fland was ranked No. 32 in ESPN’s NBA draft rankings but has since fallen off the latest 2025 mock drafts. When Arkansas coach John Calipari announced the expected roster earlier this month, Fland was notably absent from the list. The Razorbacks are expected to retain D.J. Wagner, Karter Knox, Trevon Brazile, and Billy Richmond III, while also welcoming highly-ranked recruits such as Darius Acuff and Meleek Thomas. Arkansas has bolstered its roster further by acquiring Malique Ewin and Nick Pringle through the transfer portal.
Although Fland’s future at Arkansas appears uncertain, his potential remains high as he navigates both the draft process and his transfer options.
