Barcelona Suffer Key Injury Setback Ahead of Inter Clash – Lewandowski Cleared to Play

Barcelona will be boosted by the return of star striker Robert Lewandowski for their crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan. The tie is finely balanced at 3-3 after a thrilling first leg at Montjuic, a result that left Barcelona feeling they should have secured an advantage.

The Polish forward has been declared fit and is part of the Barcelona squad announced on Monday morning. Lewandowski, at 36 years old, is Barcelona’s leading scorer this season with an impressive 40 goals and three assists in 48 appearances. His return is a significant lift for the Blaugrana, as he has missed their last four matches against Inter, Real Valladolid, Real Madrid, and RCD Mallorca due to a knee tendon issue.

However, the good news is tempered by the absence of starting left-back Alejandro Balde. The 21-year-old has not recovered sufficiently from a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined for the past three and a half weeks, despite initial hopes of a return this week. Balde’s focus is now on recovering in time for the upcoming El Clasico against Real Madrid this weekend.
