BREAKING: Otega Oweh Confirms Return to Kentucky for 2025–26 Season
In a thrilling announcement that sent waves through Kroger Field, Kentucky basketball star Otega Oweh declared, “I’m not going anywhere,” confirming his decision to return for the 2025–26 season. This news comes after Oweh entered his name into the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility, a move that kept fans and analysts eagerly awaiting his final decision.
Oweh’s return is a significant boost for the Wildcats, who are looking to build on a promising first season under head coach Mark Pope. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game during the 2024–25 season, showcasing his all-around game and leadership on the court.
Coach Pope expressed his excitement about Oweh’s decision, emphasizing the impact it will have on the team’s aspirations for the upcoming season. “Having Otega back gives us a tremendous advantage,” Pope stated. “His versatility and scoring ability are key components of our game plan moving forward.”
With Oweh’s return, Kentucky is poised to be a formidable contender in the SEC and on the national stage. Fans can look forward to an exciting season as the Wildcats aim for their ninth national championship.
