BYU’s Cummard adds two standout freshmen to the 2025-26 roster.

In his first few weeks as BYU women’s basketball coach, Lee Cummard has been busy building his roster. On Wednesday, he added two highly-rated freshmen: Olivia Hamlin from Snow Canyon High School and Yussuf Bolanle, a forward from Nigeria. Cummard kept much of the previous talent and is now focusing on creating a diverse team with international players. Besides Bolanle, the roster includes Canadians Delaney Gibb and Hattie Ogden, New Zealander Ariel Mackey-Williams, and Mariam Traore from Mali. Additionally, 6-foot-3 German center Lara Rohkohl is expected to join the team after transferring from the College of Charleston.

Hamlin, a 5-foot-10 guard, originally committed to Nebraska but flipped to BYU. Ranked 59th in the 2025 recruiting class, she led Snow Canyon to a 26-1 record, averaging 28.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 5.5 steals per game. She scored 43 points in one game and was the top scorer and stealer in Utah for the 2024-25 season. Hamlin chose BYU over several other top programs.

Bolanle, a 6-foot-3 forward, played high school basketball in Japan, where she averaged 24.7 points and 18.9 rebounds. She helped her team win multiple championships and was honored with All-Conference and All-Defensive awards. Cummard is excited about her physicality and work ethic.

Additionally, Cummard has signed Montana guard Braeden Gunlock and point guard Sydney Benally, though their statuses are still unclear.
