Cowboys Rookie Delivers Major Bulletin Board Material to Kick Off Training Camp
New Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Traeshon Holden isn’t joining the team to make friends—he’s here to prove a point.
Despite coming off his best college season at Oregon, where he racked up 718 receiving yards and five touchdowns, Holden went undrafted. It was a disappointing outcome for the talented wideout, but one that has clearly fueled his fire. Now signed as one of nine undrafted free agents by the Cowboys, Holden is entering rookie minicamp with a serious chip on his shoulder.
His mindset? Simple and direct. “Prove everybody wrong,” Holden told dallascowboys.com. “Everybody. I’m coming for heads. That’s it.” It’s the kind of fire that can turn heads during training camp, and one that head coach Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys’ staff will surely take note of.

Holden may not have elite speed, but his 6-foot-2 frame gives him the potential to be a matchup problem for defenders. He also brings physicality to the run game, a trait that could help him stand out in a crowded wide receiver room. With plenty of competition fighting for limited roster spots heading into the 2025 season, Holden will need every ounce of that underdog mentality.
Though he’s starting on the fringe, his hunger and aggressive approach suggest he’s not content staying there. Holden’s out to take souls and earn his place—and that determination might just make him one of the most intriguing players to watch this offseason in Dallas.
