Draymond Green Gets Technical in Game 7 After Altercation with Fred VanVleet

Technical fouls have become a regular occurrence for Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green, and he added another to his tally during Game 7 of the Western Conference First Round against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night. Throughout the series, Green accumulated several technical and flagrant fouls, with his aggressive playstyle often leading to physical encounters with opponents.

In this particular instance, with just under two minutes remaining in the second quarter, Green found himself guarded by Rockets guard Fred VanVleet near the 3-point line. As VanVleet attempted to reach in for the ball, Green inadvertently struck him above the shoulder. The referees reviewed the play on the monitor and assessed Green with a technical foul for the contact, while VanVleet was given a personal foul for his attempt to steal the ball.

This wasn’t the first time Green’s physicality had led to foul calls, as he has consistently been involved in contentious moments throughout the series. Despite the Warriors star’s tendency to push the boundaries, his aggressive style of play has been a hallmark of his game, and this incident only added to the ongoing narrative of Green’s fiery presence on the court. The technical foul further underscored the intensity and high-stakes nature of the playoff matchup, as the Warriors fought for a spot in the next round.
