Exclusive: Man City Reportedly Facing Daily Losses of £180,000

According to sources cited by Football Insider, Manchester City are currently shelling out nearly £1.3 million each week in wages to injured players.

The reigning Premier League champions have had a turbulent season, with the FA Cup standing as their last realistic chance of clinching a trophy. Pep Guardiola’s men are set to face Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals this Sunday (27 April), aiming for a spot in the final.

City recently edged past Aston Villa with a dramatic 2-1 victory on Tuesday (22 April), thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Matheus Nunes, which saw them leapfrog Forest into third place in the league.

However, their campaign has been marred by injuries, with five key players—Ederson, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Rodri, and Erling Haaland—missing the Villa match and likely to remain unavailable for the Wembley tie. Insiders reveal that the club is currently incurring £1.26 million in weekly wages—or around £180,000 a day—on players sidelined due to injury.
