Florida basketball will host transfer guard AJ Brown for an official visit.
Former Ohio University guard AJ Brown is set for an official visit to Florida basketball on Tuesday, as reported by Gators Online’s Zach Abolverdi. The 6-foot-4-inch redshirt junior, who has two years of eligibility remaining, brings valuable experience and scoring ability to the table. A notable connection is his relationship with Florida guard Isaiah Brown, as AJ is his older brother. This family tie could play a crucial role in Florida’s recruitment of the transfer.
The Gators coaching staff is optimistic about securing Brown’s commitment, with good reason. Brown is the second transfer portal prospect to visit Gainesville this offseason, following Princeton guard Xaivian Lee, who committed to Florida after his visit. Brown’s combination of size, athleticism, and experience makes him a strong fit for head coach Todd Golden’s system, especially given his connection to the program through his brother.

Last season, Brown averaged 13.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 29 starts for the Bobcats. His maturity and experience against high-level competition make him a potential immediate contributor for the Gators if he chooses to commit. Florida’s active approach in rebuilding their backcourt is clear, and landing Brown would be another significant step toward solidifying their revamped lineup.
