Florida point guard Kajus Kublickas is set to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

Florida basketball saw its first transfer portal departure on Monday, as sophomore point guard Kajus Kublickas has decided to explore other opportunities. According to Swamp247, the 6-foot-2 Lithuanian guard, who was part of the Gators’ national championship team, will seek a fresh start after two seasons in Gainesville.

Kublickas, who arrived at Florida as an unranked prospect, has spent most of his time on the bench under head coach Todd Golden. Over the past two seasons, he has appeared in 15 games, totaling just 11 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and one steal across 60 minutes of play. His playing time this year was limited to six games, following a season where he played in nine games. In those appearances, he made only two field goals on seven attempts—one of which was a missed three-pointer—though he excelled from the free-throw line, hitting 7 of 8 for an 87.5% clip.

Before joining Florida, Kublickas played for Zalgiris II, the reserve team for the Lithuanian basketball club Žalgiris Kaunas, during the 2022-23 season. There, he averaged 9.1 points and 3.3 assists across 37 games, helping his team to a second-league championship. He also represented Lithuania in international competitions, including the FIBA U20 EuroBasket, where he averaged 11.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists to help his country finish with a 5-2 record. Additionally, he played in the 2023 FIBA U20 European Championships and the 2022 U18 European Championships, showcasing his potential on the international stage.
