Former Utah guard Gianna Kneepkens commits to UCLA.

Former Utah star guard Gianna Kneepkens has committed to UCLA from the transfer portal, she confirmed to ESPN on Thursday. A three-time first-team all-conference selection, Kneepkens joins the Bruins following their historic NCAA Final Four appearance. Last season, as a junior, she averaged a career-high 19.3 points per game, shooting 50.4% from the field, 44.8% from 3-point range, and 89.0% from the free-throw line. She also contributed 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

Kneepkens, known for her shooting efficiency, has never shot below 38.4% from beyond the arc in her college career. The 6-foot guard from Duluth, Minnesota, was sidelined for most of the 2023-24 season due to a foot injury but had a strong start to her career, earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors in 2021-22.

UCLA, after losing six players to the transfer portal, aims to remain a Final Four contender next season by adding Kneepkens. She will team up with star center Lauren Betts, standout guard Kiki Rice, and incoming freshman Sienna Betts. The Bruins, coming off a 34-3 season, are poised for another strong campaign.
