Is Romero Eyeing a Spurs Exit? Defender Admits La Liga Desire
Tottenham Hotspur center-back Cristian Romero has hinted at a future move to Spain, admitting he has a strong interest in playing in LaLiga — the only major European league he hasn’t yet experienced.
Speaking to TyC Sports, the 26-year-old said, “LaLiga is the one [league] left to play in. I would love to, to tell you the truth.” His comments come amid increasing transfer speculation, with both Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid reportedly monitoring his situation.
Romero is currently in his third season with Spurs, having initially joined on loan from Atalanta in 2021 before making the move permanent. His current contract runs until June 2027.
