Jalen Hurts Absent as Eagles Mark Super Bowl Win at White House.

Donald Trump welcomed the Super Bowl–winning Eagles to the White House, though quarterback Jalen Hurts and several teammates skipped the visit, citing scheduling conflicts. Despite Hurts’ absence, Trump praised him as a “terrific player” and lauded the team’s season.

Attendance was optional, according to team owner Jeffrey Lurie. Notably missing were AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and others. This contrasts with 2018, when Trump rescinded the Eagles’ invite amid anthem protest tensions.

Saquon Barkley, who did attend and flew with Trump on Air Force One, later defended his visit, saying he respects the office, regardless of politics.

Unlike his first term, Trump’s second stint has seen less athlete criticism, with some players—like Patrick Mahomes—welcoming his Super Bowl presence.
