James Tarkowski’s Injury Won’t Affect Michael Keane’s Everton Future, Sources Say
Despite James Tarkowski’s injury, Michael Keane’s future at Everton remains unchanged, sources have informed Football Insider.
Keane, 32, is set to become a free agent in June, likely marking the end of his eight-year tenure at the club. While he was a key figure in the early stages of the 2024-25 season under Sean Dyche, his role has diminished under David Moyes.

Tarkowski’s hamstring surgery could sideline him at the start of the 2025-26 season, but this development is not expected to grant Keane a stay of execution at Everton.
The veteran defender is poised to depart as a free agent, with Moyes’ side planning to bolster their defense through new signings this summer. Keane’s situation worsened recently when Jake O’Brien, who had been playing at right-back, replaced Tarkowski in central defense during the 26 April match against Chelsea.
