Janiah Barker departs UCLA for Tennessee after one season.

Former UCLA player Janiah Barker has announced her commitment to Tennessee after entering the transfer portal on Monday.

Barker, a 6-foot-4 forward and the No. 3-ranked prospect in the 2022 class, spent one season with UCLA after transferring from Texas A&M, where she was the highest-ranked recruit in program history.

At UCLA, Barker averaged 7.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 17.4 minutes per game, mostly coming off the bench. The Bruins made it to their first NCAA Final Four before losing to UConn, and Barker, along with UCLA’s freshman class and junior Londynn Jones, entered the portal following the season.

Barker is Tennessee’s second transfer addition, joining SMU’s second-team All-ACC guard Nya Robertson. Coach Kim Caldwell, entering her second year at Tennessee, will also welcome five top-60 recruits, led by No. 9 Mia Pauldo, and return key starters like Talaysia Cooper, Ruby Whitehorn, and Zee Spearman.
