Kentucky Adjusts 2025–26 Basketball Slate with New Opponent and Revised Indiana Clash

There are a couple of noteworthy changes to Kentucky’s upcoming basketball schedule.

CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein has revealed that NC Central has been added to Kentucky’s non-conference lineup. In a separate update, he also reported that the highly anticipated showdown with the Indiana Hoosiers has been rescheduled for December 13, moving up a week from its original December 20 slot.

NC Central, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), transitioned to Division I in 2011 after competing at the Division II level. The Eagles have earned four NCAA tournament berths, most recently appearing in 2019. During the 2024–25 season, they posted a 14–19 overall record with a 6–8 showing in conference play.

The rivalry with Indiana—once a staple of college basketball—has remained mostly inactive since their last meeting in 2016 and has lacked a formal series structure since the memorable 2011–12 clash in Bloomington.

The upcoming matchup gains extra intrigue following Lamar Wilkerson’s commitment to Indiana, adding a new layer of competition. Both programs are expected to be ranked in the national top 25 when they face off.

Future Kentucky vs. Indiana Game Dates:

  • Dec. 13, 2025 – Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center, Lexington, KY

  • Dec. 27, 2026 – Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN (Indiana’s designated home game)

  • Dec. 18, 2027 – Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY

  • Dec. 16, 2028 – Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Bloomington, IN
