Lady Vols Head Coach Kim Caldwell Elevates Maggie Stanley Within Tennessee Women’s Basketball Staff

Tennessee women’s basketball head coach Kim Caldwell has promoted Maggie Stanley to assistant director of basketball operations and special assistant to the head coach.

Stanley served as a graduate assistant during Caldwell’s first year with the Lady Vols. She now steps into the role previously held by Haley Hall, who recently departed after two seasons to join former Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper at Missouri as director of basketball operations.

In her new role, Stanley will work alongside executive director of basketball operations and chief of staff Catherine Greene, who is entering her seventh season with the Lady Vols. Greene oversees team travel, manages the program’s annual budget, and leads the support staff and managers.

Before joining Tennessee, Stanley spent six years with the women’s basketball program at Marshall University. She served as director of basketball operations from 2022–24, including Caldwell’s lone season as Marshall’s head coach. During that season, Stanley played a vital role in handling logistics as the Herd earned their first NCAA tournament berth since 1997.

Stanley began her time at Marshall as a student manager before becoming a graduate assistant from 2020–22. Her responsibilities spanned equipment distribution, budgeting, travel coordination, and statistical analysis for the coaching staff.

She holds both a bachelor’s degree in sport management and a master’s in sports administration from Marshall. In 2023, she began working toward a second master’s degree at Tennessee.

Stanley’s promotion reflects her strong working relationship with Caldwell and her growing influence within collegiate basketball operations.
