Lady Vols Tennis to Host NCAA Regional for Third Consecutive Year

The Tennessee Lady Vols tennis team has once again earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament and will host the first and second rounds for the 10th time in program history. This year marks a milestone, as it’s the first time the program has hosted NCAA Regionals three years in a row.

Tennessee enters the tournament as the No. 10 overall seed and is set to face Elon in the first round on Friday at 4 p.m. The Knoxville Regional will also feature Pepperdine and Wake Forest. The Lady Vols wrapped up a strong regular season with a 17-7 overall record and a 10-5 finish in SEC play.

Their recent performance includes a fifth consecutive SEC series win, this time over Ole Miss, continuing a strong stretch of form heading into postseason play.

The team is aiming to build on last year’s remarkable NCAA Tournament run, which included an upset of No. 1 seed Oklahoma State and a trip to the Final Four—their first appearance at that stage since 2002. That performance set a new standard and raised expectations for what this year’s squad might accomplish.

Although the Lady Vols are still chasing their first national championship, they’re entering the tournament with momentum and experience. The later rounds of the tournament—including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship—will be held at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Tennessee athletics continues to shine across multiple sports, with several football players also being selected or signed during the 2025 NFL Draft, showcasing the university’s wide-ranging athletic success.
