NBA Buzz: Josh Giddey Eyeing Five-Year Contract Worth $150 Million with Bulls?

Chicago’s restricted free agent guard Josh Giddey is reportedly seeking a contract in the vein of Orlando’s Jalen Suggs—five years and $150 million—according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, which would average out to about $30 million per season.

Giddey’s 2024–25 Breakout Year
At just 22 years old, Giddey wrapped up a career-best campaign. Across 70 outings (69 starts), he posted 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He knocked down 46.5% of his shots overall and a career-high 37.8% from deep, ranking 20th in the league in defensive boards (439) and 10th in assists (503). His top performance came on March 10, when he dropped 29 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out four assists and swatted one shot in just 27 minutes during a 121–103 victory over Indiana.

Originally on a four-year, $27.21 million rookie contract inked in August 2021, Giddey made $6.58 million in 2023–24 and $8.35 million this past season—both via team options.

Bulls’ Roster in Flux
Spotrac data shows several Bulls veterans entering the final year of their deals. Nikola Vucevic is set to make $21.48 million in the last season of his contract—rumored to be shopped again after interest from Golden State. Center Zach Collins ($18.08 million), swingman Coby White ($12.89 million), wing Kevin Huerter ($18 million) and guard Ayo Dosunmu ($7.52 million) are also on expiring deals, and Tre Jones is poised to attract free-agency attention. Meanwhile, Chicago awaits Jevon Carter’s decision on his $6.81 million player option for 2025–26.
