Otega Oweh’s Position in the Latest ESPN NBA Draft Rankings
The Kentucky Wildcats are already looking strong for the 2025-26 season, but there’s still one more crucial addition that could make the team truly exceptional.
Junior guard Otega Oweh, who led the team in scoring during the 2024-25 season, is currently exploring his NBA Draft prospects for 2025 while maintaining his eligibility for college basketball.
Oweh is ranked No. 77 on ESPN’s updated list of the top 100 NBA prospects for 2025, compiled by renowned draft analyst Jonathan Giovny. Other Wildcats appearing in the rankings include No. 56 Koby Brea, No. 63 Amari Williams, No. 81 Jaxson Robinson, and No. 97 Andrew Carr. However, all four of those players have already exhausted their college eligibility. With only two rounds and 59 total picks in this year’s NBA Draft, Oweh’s No. 77 ranking suggests that he might not be selected, which could increase the likelihood of him returning to Kentucky.
If Oweh chooses to come back for his junior year, the Wildcats will immediately be considered serious contenders for the National Championship. Pairing Oweh, the team’s leading scorer, with a slew of top-tier transfer recruits and impressive freshman talent puts Kentucky’s roster among the best in college basketball.
With a coach like Mark Pope at the helm, Kentucky could be on track to make a deep run in the tournament next season, potentially reaching the Final Four for the first time in over a decade and seeking redemption in Indianapolis.
