The Purdue Boilermakers football program is undergoing a significant transformation as it prepares for the 2025 season. Under the leadership of newly appointed head coach Barry Odom, the team has welcomed an unprecedented influx of talent, adding 40 new players to its roster.
This massive recruitment drive includes 29 transfers and 11 high school signees, reflecting Odom’s aggressive strategy to revitalize the team. Notable additions include defensive end Mason Alnutt and defensive back Maxwell Barbee, who were the final pieces added on National Signing Day.
The new coaching staff, assembled by Odom, brings a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives. Josh Henson joins as the offensive coordinator, while Michael Scherer takes on the role of defensive coordinator. Other key appointments include Cornell Ford as assistant head coach and wide receivers coach, and Vance Vice as the offensive line coach.

Purdue’s 2025 schedule is considered one of the toughest in college football, presenting a formidable challenge for the revamped team. The Boilermakers will face a mix of traditional powerhouses and emerging programs, testing the resilience and cohesion of the newly formed squad.
As the Boilermakers embark on this new chapter, the extensive roster changes and strategic coaching appointments signal a bold commitment to competitiveness and success in the highly competitive Big Ten Conference.
