Purdue has secured UNLV transfer linebacker Charles Correa

Purdue has added former UNLV linebacker Charles Correa to its roster, reuniting him with head coach Barry Odom. Correa, a three-star recruit in the 2024 class, had offers from UNLV, Army, and Nevada before committing to the Rebels. The Bishop Gorman (Nev.) product played in all 14 games as a true freshman, logging 203 defensive snaps and recording 16 tackles, including two for loss, along with a pass breakup.

Now joining Purdue, Correa will work with Odom and defensive coordinator Mike Scherer, who both recruited him at UNLV. He will also reunite with several other former UNLV staff members, including James Shibest, Cornell Ford, and Vance Vice. Correa becomes the eighth transfer from UNLV to Purdue this offseason, following players like Tony Grimes, Jalen St. John, Mani Powell, Mason Vicari, Hank Purvis, Christian Earls, and Christian Moore.

The addition of Correa bolsters Purdue’s linebacker group, bringing the total number of incoming transfers to five for the position. Other new linebackers include Powell, Sanders Ellis, Alex Singleton, and Carson Dean, alongside returning players Owen Davis and Winston Berglund. Purdue’s total transfer portal additions this offseason now stand at 48, with 18 coming during the spring portal window. Correa joins a strong group of new Boilermakers, which includes players like Ellis, Marcus Moore, Jude McCoskey, and others.
