Razorbacks’ Green and Sorey Jr. Donate $6.4M to Revamp Senior Homeless Shelter

University of Arkansas football players Taylen Green and Xavian Sorey Jr. have pledged an extraordinary $6.4 million of their combined NIL earnings to create a permanent housing solution for homeless seniors in Fayetteville. The donation will fund the conversion of an existing local shelter into a modern facility tailored to meet the needs of elderly individuals facing homelessness.

Green, the standout quarterback, and Sorey Jr., the dynamic defensive back, have expressed a deep commitment to giving back to their community, especially to vulnerable seniors in need. “Fayetteville and Razorback Nation have supported us, and it’s our responsibility to return that favor in a meaningful way,” Green shared. “We want to help those facing homelessness, particularly seniors, by contributing to a solution.”

Sorey Jr. added that the project is about more than just providing shelter. “Our senior community deserves respect and dignity in their final years,” he said. “We want to offer more than just a place to sleep—we want to create a safe and caring home.”

The renovation project will include private living units, communal areas, healthcare facilities, and resources for social engagement, aiming to foster a sense of belonging and well-being for the residents. Local leaders have praised the donation, calling it a transformative act of kindness that will have a lasting positive impact on the community.
