Rumors Surface of Potential Blockbuster Trade Between 49ers and Eagles for 10-Sack Star

The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly looking to trade defensive end Bryce Huff, and the San Francisco 49ers could be the perfect beneficiary of this move. A potential trade would see the 49ers sending a 2026 sixth-round pick to Philadelphia in exchange for Huff, which could be a steal if Huff can return to his previous form.

The connection between Huff and the 49ers comes through defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who previously coached Huff with the New York Jets. During his breakout 2023 season under Saleh, Huff posted 10 sacks, earning a three-year, \$51.1 million deal with the Eagles last offseason. However, his performance tailed off, and he wasn’t a major factor in the Eagles’ Super Bowl win.

Saleh has always been a strong advocate for Huff’s potential, and with the 49ers needing additional edge depth behind Nick Bosa, this could be an ideal opportunity. Huff could provide a valuable role in pass-rushing packages, complementing Yetur Gross-Matos, who is expected to handle early-down duties.

The Eagles are looking to offload Huff to free up cap space, and the 49ers could step in by offering a low pick while negotiating for Philadelphia to absorb part of Huff’s contract. While the 49ers may not be desperate for a pass-rusher at \$51 million, they could find a way to revive Huff’s career and add valuable depth to their defense.
