Steph Curry and Draymond Green’s ‘final run’ hinges on Playoff Jimmy.

Before his pregame routine in Utah on Feb. 5, Stephen Curry walked out of the visitors’ locker room to hug Andrew Wiggins — moments after Wiggins learned he was being traded to the Miami Heat as part of a five-team deal that would send Jimmy Butler III to Golden State. A somber Steve Kerr closed the locker room to inform the team and give space for emotional goodbyes to Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, and Lindy Waters III. That night, the short-handed Warriors lost 131-128 to the struggling Jazz, falling to 25-25.

After the game, Curry returned to a depleted locker room. With tears in his eyes, he turned to Draymond Green and said, “This is it. It’s our last ride.”

Curry had craved meaningful games and another shot at a championship. On Monday, he’ll play his 151st playoff game — Game 4 vs. the Rockets — with hopes Butler returns after missing time with a gluteal injury. Since his arrival, Butler has reignited Curry and given new life to Golden State’s title hopes.

Kerr has adapted the offense to blend Curry’s motion with Butler’s isolation. Their contrasting styles — Curry’s off-ball chaos vs. Butler’s clockwork inside play — have added a new dimension. Their chemistry shows: Curry has a 76% effective field goal percentage off Butler’s passes, second-best among duos since Feb. 8.

Off the court, Curry, Butler, and Green are bonding too — playing poker, sharing wine, and building camaraderie. Butler and Curry, though stylistically different, are syncing up. Butler even joked, “Opposites attract,” after their first game together.

Butler has embraced his role as “Robin” to Curry’s “Batman.” After Curry’s Game 3 heroics, Butler posted a Bat-Signal with Curry’s logo. “Thanks Batman and team — excluding Buddy,” he joked, poking fun at teammate Buddy Hield, who stepped up as “Alfred.”

Curry appreciates Butler’s energy and commitment. “He didn’t even run the nickname by me,” Curry laughed. “That means he’s all in.”

As the Warriors chase one last ring, their new dynamic — powered by Curry and Butler — just might be the storybook ending to Golden State’s dynasty.
