Thunder Close in on WCF with Crucial Game 5 Win Over Nuggets
The Oklahoma City Thunder moved one step closer to the Western Conference finals, edging the Denver Nuggets 112-105 in Game 5 on Tuesday night.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 31 points, six rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks, sealing the win with a crucial late-game three-pointer.
Lu Dort ignited a fourth-quarter surge, hitting three consecutive three-pointers as OKC outscored Denver 34-19 in the final 12 minutes to overcome an early deficit.
Despite Nikola Jokic’s dominant performance, which included a game-high 44 points and 15 rebounds on 68% shooting, the Nuggets fell short.
With the win, the Thunder grabbed a 3-2 series lead and will try to advance to the conference finals in Game 6 on Thursday.
