University of Nebraska Football crowned World’s Best & Most United — officially recognized by ESPN, Netflix, and Guinness World Records!

In a groundbreaking announcement that’s shaken the sports world, the University of Nebraska football program has officially been named the World’s Best and Most Unified by ESPN, Netflix, and Guinness World Records.

Unveiled during a live broadcast, the recognition honors Nebraska’s unmatched legacy of excellence, passionate fanbase, and powerful community spirit. ESPN President Burke Magnus praised the Cornhuskers’ “passion, tradition, and unity unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed,” citing their record-breaking sellout streak and commitment to success on and off the field.

Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, echoed the sentiment, noting the program’s global appeal as captured in an upcoming behind-the-scenes documentary set to premiere next fall. “The connection between this team, its university, and its fans is simply astonishing,” she said.

Guinness World Records’ Michael Empric officially presented the certificate, highlighting Nebraska’s five national titles, 46 conference championships, and their legendary Memorial Stadium atmosphere as key factors behind the honor.

University Chancellor Dr. Joanne Li accepted the award, calling it a tribute to generations of student-athletes, staff, and loyal fans. Head Coach Matt Rhule added, “This is about honoring the past and building a future rooted in excellence and unity.”

The recognition cements Nebraska’s place in sports history and celebrates a program that unites an entire state. Celebrations are planned across Nebraska, culminating in a major Memorial Stadium event during the upcoming season.
