UW Women’s Basketball Transfer Portal Update: Serah Williams Finds New Team

MADISON – When Robin Pingeton became the women’s basketball coach at Wisconsin, she took over a team that had many gaps to fill before the upcoming season. When Pingeton took charge, only six players were on the roster, and with two new recruits signed in December, she had seven spots left to fill in order to complete a full 15-player roster for the 2025-26 season.

Several players have left the program, including Carter McCray, a 6-1 center who transferred to West Virginia after making significant contributions in scoring and rebounding. Tessa Grady, a 6-2 forward, left after limited playing time last season and later committed to Coastal Carolina. Ronnie Porter, a 5-4 guard, initially entered the transfer portal but has reversed her decision and will return for her senior season. Gracie Grzesk, a 5-11 forward, transferred to UW-Green Bay after a limited role with the Badgers. D’Yanis Jimenez, a 5-8 guard, left the program after a less impactful season. Serah Williams, a 6-4 forward and a standout player for the Badgers, transferred to UConn.

On the other hand, Wisconsin has added several new players. Kyrah Daniels, a 6-0 guard from Missouri State, joined the team after an impressive season with the Bears. Destiny Howell, a 6-0 guard from Howard, who was the MEAC player of the year, joined after recovering from an ACL injury. Gift Uchenna, a 6-3 forward from Southern Illinois, transferred to Wisconsin after an outstanding season with the Salukis. Laci Steele, a 5-11 guard and former top-100 recruit from NC State, also joined with two years of eligibility remaining.

Lastly, Halle Douglass, Natalie Leuzinger, and Tess Myers completed their eligibility with the Badgers.
