Warriors Face Elimination Without Stephen Curry in Game 5

With their season hanging by a thread, the Golden State Warriors will have to push through Game 5 without their star, Stephen Curry. The Minnesota Timberwolves lead the Western Conference semifinal series 3-1, and Curry, who injured his left hamstring in Game 1, is unlikely to play in Wednesday’s do-or-die matchup. Despite being officially listed for re-evaluation, sources close to the team suggest Curry’s condition hasn’t improved enough for a return.

Coach Steve Kerr has been searching for a winning strategy without his cornerstone player, but it’s clear that replicating Curry’s impact is a near-impossible task. Without his deep shooting, off-ball movement, and ability to attract multiple defenders, the Warriors’ offensive flow has struggled. On Monday, the team managed just 18 assists, well below their season average, highlighting the gap Curry leaves in their lineup.

Even if Curry were to push for a return, risking further injury would likely do more harm than good, both for his health and the team’s chances. As it stands, the Warriors face a steep uphill battle without the player who has defined their championship era.
